Louisville boat & berries

Will and I had a three day weekend this weekend so we took the kiddos to Louisville. First day we headed for the zoo. They had a baby elephant, a baby giraffe and a splash park. Best of all it was free because we are members of the Evansville zoo. (the pictures from the zoo are below). On the second day we took a paddle boat ride up the river.

On the way home we stopped in starlight to visit the petting zoo and pick some berries.

cMoe

We spent the afternoon at Children's museum of Evansville (cMoe) with the Fritschle's. (we also went to play at their house after the museum closed.) We desperately needed to get out of the house for the day and this did the trick; We all conked out as soon as we got home. Thanks for playing with us.

Take me out to the ball game

We went to the otters game last night. Vectren had sent a coupon with our bill for a buy one get one free ticket for this game (last night was vectren night). We had a great time at the game until the rain came. We were waiting out the rain when lightning struck and knocked out the power to the stadium. Ironic...power going out on vectren night. Hee hee. I took this picture seconds before the power failure.

A new swing set...to be continued

This is what our swing set used to look like. It was a little crooked and falling apart. The day after Spencer's surgery we had some time so we started taking it apart. Spencer and I have been working on it little by little
when we have time.
Here's what it looks like today. It stands straight and there is a patio under the slide. I also decided that we don't need a canopy anymore so I cut off the tops of the posts. It was while i was cutting off the top of the fourth post that i slipped and cut off the tip of my elbow. That was last weekend. The project is on hold for now while I heal.

Happy birthday Spencer...part 2

We started our day at the Zoo with the Fritsche's. (more pictures on their blog)
The highlight for the big boys was a stop at the fountains on the way out.
He doesn't really bite. That's his zoo shirt...he loves it.
After some dry clothes and nice long nap it was time for presents. Spencer got a wheelbarrow and some books and puzzles. This evening he got to choose supper so we all ate hot dogs and macaroni and cheese (I added veggies to the menu) and Popsicles for dessert. Spencer had a great day.

Happy Birthday Spencer!!!

These are pictures from Spencer's party in Nebraska.
Action Shot. One candle down, two to go.

The candles for relit several times.
