Celebrating Eugene

Yesterday we went to the "Celebrate Eugene" festival...the parade was great.  Some groups were handing out healthy things like bananas and oranges and smoothies (made by a bicycle powered blender)...there was also candy and t shirts.

After the parade we got lunch and headed for the kid area.  it was filled with crafts and shows geared toward kids...we only made it to one booth where Grant played in the rice table and Spencer made art (and played with rice)

Welcome to the Oregon Coast

 There is ocean and sand.  The ocean is crazy cold...you can't even imagine.  The air is also cool enough you think you should have worn a sweater to the beach.  So we discovered the best beach on the Oregon Coast...there is a stream flowing through the beach that connects to a lake across the highway.  The water in the stream is warmish and it forms big tide pools that are good for the kiddos to play in without risk of being knocked over by waves.  Good parking and bathrooms.  Awesome day!

There were a lot of training cockpits to sit in and tons of buttons!
